Girls got two tunics, two blouses, a pair of shoes, a pair of socks, underwear, a jersey and a plastic bag of lollipops.

Mr Autlwetse, also assistant minister of agriculture, said the donation came at an apt time when winter just started.

He said the intention was to bridge the gap between the poor and well-offs, adding that would also ensure that children enjoyed habitable learning environment.

“We don’t want kids to bunk school or ultimately drop out of school because they are verbally abused by their peers on the basis of their appearance at school,” he said.

He thanked The World Group of Companies for their gesture, which was extended to Gojwane Primary School.

Majwanaadipitse school head, Mr Dithebe Martin appealed to parents to take good care of the uniform.

Mr Martin said the new uniform would motivate pupils to pursue their learning with limited distractions.

He said the donation augured well with their target to attain an 80 per cent pass rate.

The school head said for the past three academic years, his school posited poor results that they sought to improve.

In 2013, the school attained 47 per cent ABC pass, 54.7 per cent in 2014 and reneging back to 47.4 per cent last year. ENDS
