Tati Siding public servants introspect

Tati-Siding Village Extension Team’s (VET) retreat brought together public servants in the village so that they could unite and encourage cooperation amongst themselves.

Kgosi Simon Nkgageng of Tati Siding acknowledged that the public servants were at Lekhubu Island for introspection in service delivery.

He recognised the cooperation that the public servants in Tati-Siding had, adding that the spirit of team work could work as a catalyst in service delivery.

Kgosi emphasised that with cooperation and team work, performance of public servants could improve hence improvement of village developments.

The VET chairperson and Tashata JSS headteacher, Mr Meshack Sechele said unity was the backbone of their trip adding that their intention was to take their team to greater heights.

He stated that they chose Lekhubu Island because it was a quiet, open and secluded area with unique ecological archaeological features.

Mr Sechele said they had a sponsored walk from Tati-Siding village to Francistown city on the 2nd of April still on a mission of unity and cooperation.

He went on to quote the first President of Botswana Sir Seretse Khama who once said “those who are given the responsibility to hold the position of par should always have the interest of the nation at heart, they should be no room for self-interest and dishonesty.

Shedding light on capacity building and stakeholders collaboration,the North-East District Commissioner Mr Collen Tubego urged the team to play their part fully in their work place,be strategic,use their talents around the village and build departments that will help in mind set change.

He further said all departments should work together and be an example in their village and allow others to come and bench mark.

“Be like footballers who pull all effort into the positions they play,” he said. 

Mr Tubego also added that sharing of resources is crucial as it is part of team work.

He also encouraged that customers should always be served with a smile as a one happy customer makes a happy community.

Mr Omphile Galebotse,the VET secretary took an overview of the VET when giving a vote of thanks, citing that he appreciates the team’s effort and encouraged all workers to take into consideration what has been presented and urged them to put that into practice for the betterment of service delivery.

The Tati-Siding VET comprises teachers, nurses, youth officers, Ministry of Agriculture workers, tribal administration and all government employees in the village. ENDS
