Church service important to nation
26 Apr 2016
Churches play a pivotal role in the moulding and raising of children and it helps them practice good morals as well as groom them into God fearing individuals.
That was said by Pastor Jumanta Mongwegape, at the 48th Synod Conference hosted by United Congregation Church of South Africa (UCCSA) in Tsabong under the theme “Christ is calling us, participating in the suffering and struggle”.
Pastor Mongwegape said that the nation should hold on to putting God first, as well as obeying its leaders as they also carry on the guidance from the holy book.
He went on to say that church should be considered a house of comfort as well as the right platform to get guidance and counselling.
Pastor Ramaribana said that it was the church’s responsibility to fix the spiritual fabric destroyed by the devil in many ways and that christians needed to fight these things spiritually.
When explaining the theme Pastor Sylvester Tselaesele, said that people could never be relevant if they did what was parallel to what God sent them to do as Christians.
He said churches had to follow in the footsteps of The Lord Jesus Christ their leader and that they were called “to proclaim freedom to the prisoners of Satan.”
Rev. Tselaesele also said that Christians should use their “spiritual weapons” to deal with the spiritual attacks, as ambassadors of Christ on earth and that they had been called by the Lord as transportation of the word of God to the people, quoting verse 12 from the book of John.
For his part, the Tsabong Police Station Commander Superintendent Howard Modo said that UCCSA was committed to keeping peace, love and justice, and they did this based on the saying Motho ke motho ka batho.
He highlighted that, UCCSA helped in building some schools, hospitals and churches and provided social help to the community by helping the less privileged, and vulnerable individuals, like solving marriage problems .
The Station Commander furthermore said that UCCSA should visit schools, bars and hospitals to spread the word of God to the people, as that would play a big role in moulding the nation thus reducing crime.
The mission secretary Revered Kagiso Mphato said their mandate was soul winning as a church. ENDS
