Tsogwane to perform ESP ground breaking

As the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) roll out gains momentum, yet another ground breaking of more projects will be taking place in Selebi Phikwe on Friday April 22.
The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Slumber Tsogwane is expected perform the official ground breaking of the projects.
The projects include 20 teachers’ houses, four classrooms and three ablution blocks. “Each block consists of eight toilets. It is through the ESP that the ministry seeks to eradicate backlog of projects that were deferred due to the economic recession,” a press release from local government ministry says.
Government is expected through ESP to increase spending in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, tourism and agriculture to accelerate creation of more employment opportunities.
This is further expected to boost economic growth and economic diversification.
In addition, particular attention has been given to the geographical spread of the projects so that all sectors and regions in the country benefit from the programme.
The expected impact is improved lives through health, education, growing diversified economy besides increased employment levels. So far, some projects have been launched in Machaneng, Kanye and Gaborone. ENDS
