Serowe South MP, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, says through the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP), government would construct a road that links Serowe with Mogatsapoo lands.
Dr Venson-Moitoi said Mogatsapoo road would be useful especially that government had decided to establish agricultural service centre at Mogatsapoo lands.
“Government has agreed to establish a service centre at Mogatsapoo after I fought for over 10 years,” said the MP, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations .
She was addressing kgotla meetings at Mooko and Mmolawana lands on Monday. Mooko farmers committee chairperson, Mr Letso Moiteelasilo said though farmers were doing their best to look after their dam, they were experiencing some challenges citing that the dam needed de-sanding and the spillway also needed some repairs.
Mr Moiteelasilo said there was need to get rid of ant hills and trees that developed in the dam.
Mooko farmers called for restoration of the mobile clinic services and requested for Ipelegeng programme.
The residents also expressed concern about stock theft, saying it was aggravated by stray cattle and poor roads conditions linking them with the neighboring villages such as Serowe and Moiyabana.
In responses to the request of the introduction of Ipelegeng, Serowe Administrative Authority’s senior assistant council secretary, Mr Terrence Ntalabgwe advised farmers to suggest that to the village development committee of a village that they fell within. ENDS
