Tshelametsi calls it a day

Former national team and FC Satmos goalkeeper, Kagiso Tshelametsi has announced his retirement from active football at the age of 35. Tshelametsi says after 18 years of playing football he cannot carry on playing.
He says back in 2007 he had an injury that laid him from active football for five years “My heart says carry on playing, but my mind is saying otherwise,” he said
Tshelametsi says the highlight of his career was representing the national team, he singles out a COSAFA match where the Zebras were trailing against Namibia and he had to come on as a substitute after Modiri Marumo was injured, which the Zebras won as one of the memorable matches he has played.
He credits the late Sam Sono and Major David Bright as the best coaches he has worked under. The former Zebra’s goalkeeper insists that he is not lost to football, as he is a qualified coach, he will continue to serve in other footballing engagements.
He says at FC Satmos he served as player and goalkeeper coach. He cautions upcoming goalkeepers to work hard, he says being a goalkeeper is a special position as it comes with both praise and criticism.
The former Zebras goal minder says for football to grow, it be administered by people who are passionate and love it. He calls on former footballers to lend a hand in developing football. ENDS
