Educating children on HIVAIDS essential
04 Apr 2016
Providing children with information on HIV/AIDS is another way of engaging them in the fight against the disease.
A moral education teacher at Mosikari junior secondary school in Machaneng, Mr Kabo Moloi said sometimes lack of information could lead people into dangerous situations.
Mr Moloi noted that being fully equipped with information could help one make the right decisions.
Speaking at the schools’ brief health talks organised for form one and two students, Mr Moloi encouraged students to take their health as a priority, including health messages given. He also urged the youth to spread health messages to ensure that they bear fruit.
A representative of Machaneng Youth Group, Mr Thabiso Paul said the group aimed at helping mould school going children into responsible future generation.
Mr Paul said they do so by visiting both primary and junior schools in Machaneng at regular times to conduct talks on various topics such as HIV/AIDS, crime, drug and alcohol abuse and financial management. Ends
