Govt condemns terrorist attacks
29 Mar 2016
Botswana has condemned terrorist attacks in Brussels, which caused untold carnage among the innocent civilian population as well as destruction to property.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation states that the continued spate of terrorist attacks is a painful reminder of the atrocities that were carried out in Paris in November last year.
These heinous acts continue to pose a major threat to international peace and security.
Therefore, the release says Botswana calls upon other peace-loving nations to unite in their resolve to defeat the scourge of terrorism, which afflicts the world.
The release also states that Botswana reaffirms its commitment to fight terrorism.
It also expresses Botswana’s solidarity with the people of Belgium in the aftermath of the recent attacks.
Furthermore, it says Botswana is hopeful that the international community will continue to make concerted efforts to rid the world of terrorism and its manifestations. Ends
