Gumare hospital theatre laboratory burn to ashes

Gumare Primary Hospital theatre and laboratory facilties were gutted by fire this morning (March 18).
Briefing the disaster management committee early today, the hospital’s spokesperson, Dr Nhlanhla Rabanyana, said night shift workers reported the fire outbreak in the early hours of today (between 2-3 am).
Dr Rabanyana said no one was injured. However, 30 patients, who were admitted in the wards adjacent the afftected structures, were awaiting transfers to Letsholathebe Referral Hospital in Maun. This, he said, was done to protect patients since the cause of the fire had not been established.
Two helicopters, he noted, were expected to airlift the patients to Maun today . ENDS
