14 Mar 2016

Mexican Girls increased Vicomates woes of failing to win a single game when they beat them 2-1 in First division game played at Ithuteng Primary School Ground on Sunday.

Vicomates, who are yet to register a victory are at the bottom of the log, and they do not have a single point, whereas Mexican Girls are at position four with 21 points, having played 12 games, they have won seven, and lost five.

The Mexican Girls showed their clear intention of winning the game, as early as the first whistle because from the centre Mosa Ramopedi netted the first goal which will be amongst the quickest goals ever scored in the Women First Division league.

However, Vicomates did not fold their arms and watch Mexican Girls embarrass them in front of their supporters, as they piled more pressure and in the 24th minute, they were awarded a penalty which was nicely converted by Kelebeletse Motshelanoka to make it 1-1.

Both teams continued to attack each other, but credit should go to Vicomates goalkeeper Keneilwe Saka, who denied her opponents golden scoring opportunities.

Just a few second before break, Meat Girls Ealenna Galekhutlhe made a breakthrough but all her hard work was once again thwarted by good decision making of Vicomates keeper who was always on alert.

The game went into a recess with scoreboard reading 1-1, after the break, both teams continued with their attack but lack of good communication by Meat Girls strikers was their main enemy.

In the 62th minute, Vicomates launched  a good attack and Maipelo Lekwale was unlucky as her attempt was denied by the wood work.

Three minutes before full time, Mexican Girls were awarded a free kick which was well take by German international Frederike Preissner, and well received by Galekhutlhe who did not waste time, but extended her team’s lead, and the game ended with 2-1.

After the game,Meat Girls coach Oaitse Moeti said he was happy his team managed to earn three valuable points.

He however said his players failed to gel because during the week they did not train together due to school commitment, hence there was no constructive passes more especially in the fist half.

Moeti said his team managed to play their football after the break although they missed a lot of scoring chances, he however said they will prepare well to their next game against Mmanana.

Vicomates coach,Victor Bareetseng said although he was a better side on the day, his team was unlucky to convert.

He said another challenge was that most of her players were also training due to family commitment, adding that they would continue to train hard and rectify their mistakes at training. Ends
