Land board rolls out registration exercise

Central District Council (CDC) chairperson, Mr Peter Williams, on Monday, told the council that the systematic land registration exercise that was done in Serowe, Palapye and Mahalapye has been rolled out to the rest of the district.
However, Mr Williams said due to the financial and human resource limitation, the plot survey component of the exercise had been planned to be done according to the sub-land board areas.
He said the survey carried by the Serowe Sub-land Board on its villages was accomplished.
Mr Williams said out of 5 750 plots surveyed, 3 270 of them had been claimed and were being prepared for adjudication by the Serowe Sub-land Board.
The team had been working on the records and was expected to move to Paje Sub-land Board by March this year, which was also expected to be done by December.
The Systematic Land Registration was still in progress at Sefhare Sub-land Board.
The chairperson said sub-land board started with Moshopa where 777 out of 801 plots surveyed and 492 of these plots have been claimed and adjudicatedMr Williams said 304 were inspected by the Letloreng and about 251 of those have been adjudicated.
He stated that 544 were also inspected at Matlhako and 394 of them were adjudicated. He said the Sub Land is expected to move to Ngwapa village.
Mr William stated that the Ngwato Land Board has at 31st December 2015 allocated 10 314 against 8 385 target for the 3rd quarter representing a performance of 120 percent. Ends
