Youth neglect programmes
07 Mar 2016
Kgosi Batshani Nswazwi of Nswazwi village has stated that the youth in his village are not serious about government programmes even though they are meant to empower them.
Speaking in a recent interview with BOPA, he said it is so shocking to see some of their projects collapsing due to poor management.
He said spending time in liquor depots has become the only solution for them as they think that the future lies in the alcohol they drink on a daily basis.
Kgosi Nswazwi said the status quo is worrisome and seeing a youngster growing up to become unemployed and then turn to drinking and abuse of drugs shows how hopeless they are.
“We have on countless occasions tried to address the issue with parents during kgotla meetings and it is also so shocking to an extent that during such drinking sprees, some fight and cause harm to one another,” he noted.
He called upon all of the youth in my village to use govemment programmes in order to improve and sustain their livelihoods. Ends
