Car crash claims life

Police in Letlhakeng are investigating a road accident that claimed the life of a 40-year old man on the spot on Sunday night near the Sesung/Metsibotlhoko turn.
Speaking in an interview with BOPA, the assistant station commander for Letlhakeng, Assistant Supt Daniel Katse said the accident occurred around 10pm. He related that the public transport mini-bus driver died on the spot after he rammed onto the back of a moving van.
He said primary investigations indicate that the deceased was over-speeding.
He said the mini-bus hit the van with such a force that the occupants of the van were thrown out.
He said the driver of the public transporter was rushed to Scottish Livingstone Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead.
His body is still awaiting post-mortem while the driver of the van and the other three passengers were rushed to Letlhakeng clinic where they were treated for minor injuries.
The police chief advised road users to be vigilant and take extra care, especially when driving at night. He added that drivers must resist from driving while they are tired. Ends
