Regularisation of illegally occupied land under the Presidential amnesty of 2009 is ongoing.

Answering a question on behalf of the Minister of Lands and Housing in Parliament, The Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Batshu said as such residents of Tsolamosese and Mokolwe, who were pardoned by the President, have not been allocated plots.

He noted that a total of 504 out of the current 1 141 squatters have been processed, out of which 258 will be regularised.

He added that 246 do not qualify for the regulations as they were found to own plots around 60km radius of Kweneng Land Board area of jurisdiction.

Mr Batshu also said the remaining plots are undergoing physical survey and screening and the exercise to regularise those eligible to be allocated plots will be completed by September 2016.
