Untouchable hold Prisons

29 Feb 2016

Bottom-placed Untouchable managed to hold marauding Prisons to a two all draw in a women’s super league football game played at Masa Primary School on Sunday (February 28).

The draw will not make any impact on both teams given that out of the 12 games they played with Untouchable, they managed to win one game, recorded three draws and lost eight games. They are in position 11 with eight points whereas Prisons are in position three with 28 points having won eight games, recorded four draws and one loss.

However during the game, Prisions came with all guns blazing as they dictated terms to their opponents. It did not come as a surprise when in the 17th minute, they managed to win a corner which was well taken care of by Kefilwe Lentswe although it was put to waste by her team-mates.

Prisons continued with their attack and in the 26th minute Keletso Walebowa who was a marvel to watch took the ball from the centre, took two steps and converted it into a beautiful goal to give Prisons the lead.

Untouchable tried very much to fight back as they moved forward searching for an equaliser, but Prisons’ packed defence was just too tough to dismantle.

Just five minutes before break, Untouchable was awarded a free kick which Tshepiso Thelo did not hesitate to put at the back of the net to make one all draw before half time.

The game went into recess with both teams at logger heads. After the break, Prisons continued to mesmerise the spectators playing good football as they looked very dangerous moving forward but were unlucky because most of their balls went wide.

In the 50th minute Prisons launched an attack which at the end paid dividends after Angelina Segole finished the attack with a beautiful goal.

The goal rubbed Untouchable the wrong way as they did not give their opponents more room to manoeuver in the event winning more balls more especially in the middle of the park. Their hard work and resilience paid off in the 64th minute when Ndasha Matshana levelled the matter to end the game with two all draw.

After the game, Prisons coach Quelch Moroke said they did not play their usual game and their opponents were a better side than them.

He said Untouchable were on a very good shape on the day making it difficult for his side to penetrate their defence.

Moroke further said now it was back to the drawing boards given that they have registered their third draw.

“it is all about sharpening our strikers because we miss a lot of golden scoring opportunities,’’ Untouchable coach Bonnie Mametse said adding that the game went according to their plan although they had wanted to win three points.

He said he was happy that the girls managed to hold star studded Prisons and that he was not happy with the second goal because his players had thought it was an off-side which they failed to play to the whistle. Ends
