Despite the rain, residents came in numbers to the kgotla to get first-hand information on the manadate of city council departments.
In his address Francistown clerk, Mr Lebuile Israel said he was happy that Monarch was chosen as the first location the council brought its services to.
Mr Israel noted that it was clear that some Batswana were still in the dark as to what the city council’s duties were and that some were not even familiar with some of the departments under the city council.
Because of this, he said he was confident that people would know and understand what services they could get at the city council.
One of Monarch residents, Ms Lechedzani Maoto expressed happiness in an interview saying the people of Monarch had been enlightened as the council had brought services to them.
