Ambassador Zheng Zhuqiang of China says he appreciates the profound friendship and cooperation between Botswana and China.

Ambassador Zheng said China felt obliged to work closely with Botswana in supporting poverty eradication, empowering women and youth interventions.

He said this at an event where the patron of  Lady Khama Charitable Trust President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama , handed donations to the Golden Years Group and Masupe Primary School in Gaborone on Thursday February 25.

Mr Zheng , who also donated a vehicle to Lady Khama Charitable Trust , commended the trust for its devotion to charitable causes in Botswana.

He said the donation was another testimony of Botswana and China’s friendship. The ambassador said he hoped the donation would further strengthen the existing cooperation between the two countries. 

He stated that China had supported more than 30 charitable programmes benefitting thousands of Batswana with a total donation of more than P2 million. ENDS
