A 40-year-old passenger who was recwently trapped in a Toyota Prado for three hours following a horrific accident inwhich his vehicle collided with a Botswana government truck near Gamodubu landfill is reported to be in a stable condition at Bokamoso Private Hospital.

The driver of the Toyota Prado together with the other male passenger who was left with a fractured leg and arm were travelling along the Molepolole/Gaborone. Superintendent Charles Mbengwa of Molepolole police told BOPA that the Toyota Prado driver was rushed to Scottish Livingtone Hospital where he received medical treatment and released while the truck driver escaped unhurt.

The station commander was grateful about the assistance rendered by the rescue team comprising the fire and med-rescue services together with doctors .

He said although they are yet to establish the cause of the accident, the truck driver is likely to face a charge of careless driving upon completion of police investigations.

Superintendent Mbengwa appealed to the motorists using the Molepolole/Gaborone to maintain the recommended speed and adhere to traffic road signs looking at the fact that the road continues to experience a high volume of traffic by commuters from Gaborone and Molepolole. Ends
