Good health vital in business
23 Feb 2016
The success of every business depends on the good health of its human resources, said Lobatse District Health Management Team coordinator for Safe Male Circumcision, Mr Mmoloki Molosiwa.
Mr Molosiwa said at a Youth in Business Workshop organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture in Lobatse on Thursday that people in business also need to stay healthy to manage their businesses well.
He encouraged youth in business to engage in physical exercise in order to improve their mood and productivity. He advised them to ensure safety in the workplace. He advised them to invite health officers to educate their employees on how to deal with emergency situations.
He advised them to associate with people who can help them focus and achieve their goals. Earlier in his welcome remarks, Boswelatlou Councillor Themba Setimela said the workshop was vital as it gave youth in business a chance to benchmark for excellent business practice.
He said most youth businesses fall in the same category, and urged them to improve their competitiveness. Cllr Setimela added that the workshop helped groom the youth to become successful business people.
For his part, records manager at the Botswana National Archives and Records Services (BNARS) Mr Sebata Mhahle advised the youth that records management is important for effective management of every business. He said organisations depend on records for development of their products as well as for making critical strategic decisions.
He said records management helps an organisation to safeguard its rights, to have proof of ownership of assets and to document agreements with partners and stakeholders. Ends
