ECG Church donates to Bana-Ba-Keletso
16 Feb 2016
Bana-Ba-Keletso, an orphanage centre in Molepolole was privileged to be the first recipient of a P60 000 donation from the Enlighted Christian Gathering ( ECG) aimed at addressing the needs of the less privileged children in the institution.
The donation was handed over to BOCAIP chief executive officer (CEO), Ms Lorato Mphusu on behalf of Bana-Ba-Keletso centre by the Gaborone based branch pastor, Onkabetse Phitshane on Saturday at the centre.
Pastor Phitshane highlighted that the donation came from the ECG’s main church in Pretoria under the leadership of Prophet Shepard Bushiri.
He noted that it was P52 000 that was topped up by the Gaborone Church to make P60 000.
He further stated that the donation was sent to basically assist any needy community in Botswana, and that the good hand of the Lord directed church members to Bana-Ba-Keletso in Molepolole to help address the plight of the young children in need to help keep the centre running.
Meanwhile, Ms Mphusu expressed gratitude about the gesture, saying it would help to sustain the institution that was currently offering day care service to 24 orphanage children coming from in and around Molepolole.
The institution, Ms Mphusu stated, has spread its wings to 13 districts in Botswana advocating aid related issues including among others, faithfulness and abstinence among Christians.
The centre’s board chairperson, Mr Hlala Mapenduka stated that the donation came at the right time when the centre was in need of financial aid, indicating that the centre was sometimes compelled to close temporarily due to unavailability of operational funds.
He called on Kweneng District councillors to find ways on how best they could help to keep the institution running.
He called on churches and the Molepolole community to emulate what ECG has done and support the centre to avoid situations where the centre would lead to closure. Ends
