Maun police are investigating an incident in which a tourist died at one of the hotels in Maun on Sunday morning.

In an interview, Maun Station Commander, Superintendent Peter Gochela said they received a report from Sedie hotel informing them about the incident.

He said the deceased who was from Germany was accompanied by his wife and were on a touring expedition. He said it was reported that the deceased collapsed in the morning around 9am and the paramedic team was informed immediately.

Superintendent Gochela said the deceased was rushed to Letsholathebe Memorial hospital where he was certified dead on arrival, saying they suspect heart failure.Still on Sunday, a 33 year-old woman of Sedie ward was assaulted and raped by her boyfriend near Matsaudi village.

He said the suspect went to the woman’s home and took her for a drive to the bush where he assaulted and raped her.The police have since embarked on a massive search for him. Ends
