Road to boost Mookane economy

President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama says the new tarred road which will pass through Mookane village is expected to boost the local economy and develop the village.
President Khama was speaking during a meeting with the village elderly and destitutes of Mookane village in Mahalapye East constituency on Saturday.
He said the Dibete/Mookane road which will be constructed through the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) will create businesses in the village thus creating employment for the people.
President Khama said one of ESP objectives was to help the economy of the country by creating and construction of roads, construction of government staff houses, classrooms and many more.
He said ESP was a government initiative aimed at boosting the national economy through accelerated job creation and citizen empowerment.
Kgosi Silas Keitumetse of Mookane appreciated the construction of the tarred road.
President Khama also gave 30 chairs to the kgotla, Bibles and blankets for the elderly and destitutes as well as solar light. Ends
