In its continued efforts to celebrate and support women in their different capacities, Orange Botswana has once again partnered with the French Embassy to host and celebrate the women of Botswana on March 8.

A news release from Orange Botswana states that the partnership with the French Embassy is one of the many ways through which Orange supports and empowers local women.
During the event, Orange Botswana will have stalls showcasing and promoting products and services from 100 per cent owned Batswana women companies.

Those showcasing include Amazing Services, the winner of the Orange Foundation 2015 corporate gifts challenge and some of the top 10 candidates who participated in the challenge.

The International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 across the world. Worldwide, women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievements as such have much to celebrate. “Our commitment to empowering local women entrepreneurs is one that we take seriously.

When we announced Thato Mahube as last year’s winner for the 2015 corporate gifts challenge, we promised to go beyond just purchasing from her, but creating and availing platforms to showcase and promote her company at Orange sponsored events.

The International Women’s Day celebration is one of those platforms that we will offer to them,” says Orange PR and Foundation manager, Ms Boga Chilinde-Masebu.

According to Ms Mahube of Amazing Services, the support from Orange Botswana is greatly appreciated, especially as the company does its best to not only purchase from them, but also avail opportunities for them to increase their footprint through exhibitions such as the Women’s Day celebrations.

“We are truly excited to be working with Orange Botswana. We are looking forward to interacting with the business community as well as the opportunity to grow our company through promoting ourselves at this event.
We hope that this will open doors to more partnerships and business opportunities with different entities,” says Ms  Mahube.

Each year, the celebrations are held at the French Ambassadors’ residence, and are attended by various dignitaries and business entities, providing an opportunity for business women to interact. Ends
