Makgalemele visits IDM

The Assistant Minister for Presidential affairs and Public Administration Mr Dikgang Makgalemele visited IDM College in Gaborone this week.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr Makgalemele said his tour intended to check on the welfare of the College as well as the contribution it has on the community.
He said as he believes that education is the centre piece of economy, and it is important for the college to have a role to play in the betterment of the country›s economy.
He noted that the college should also play a role in challenges of this country such as education, young people and less privileged people in the country and offer a helping hand.
Mr Makgalemele commended IDM for self-financing which reduces the burden from the government in terms of finances. He encouraged the institution to find ways to broaden its revenues.
He urged the management of the institution to track their students after graduation to see what they are doing, whether they are engaged in some important things like jobs.
For her part, the country director of IDM Ms Faith Tombale said it is an honour for the institution to have been visited by the assistant minister. She said they will do everything in their power to contribute to the welfare of the community. Ends
