Khama to launch ESP

The public is informed that the official launch of the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) will take place on Saturday 13th, in Machaneng in the Tswapong/ Ramokgonami area.
A news release from BGCIS states that according to the Office of the President, the launch will be performed by President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama and is expected to start at 08h00.
The release states that as part of the launch, the Ministry of Lands and Housing will also unveil Public Officers Housing Units that are already under construction in Machaneng. The houses will alleviate shortage of staff accommodation.
The Economic Stimulus Programme is a Government initiative aimed at boosting the national economy through accelerated job creation and citizen empowerment using the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) and harnessing the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) programme for citizens.
Meanwhile the public is informed that Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for ESP tenders have been released for projects to be undertaken by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology as well as the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
Whilst the EOIs are on the Daily News and Government Facebook page, they can also be viewed at all the District Commissioners’ Offices around the country. Further updates on ESP will be provided as they unfold. Ends
