The Ministry of Education and Skills Development, through the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DTVET), will hold inaugural TVET joint mini fair on Thursday. The main event will take place at Kang Brigade.
Through the fair, DTVET would seek to promote and publicise technical and vocational education and training.
In an interview, Kang Brigade deputy principal, Mr Thabo Dube said the main objectives of this occasion were, among others, to showcase skills acquired by students during their training, to market TVET programmes, to improve the image of TVET and also encourage innovation and research.
This, he said, would also give the community and those aspiring to study to get acquainted with what is currently being offered at the brigades. Exhibitors and participants are students from Ghanzi, Kang, Kgalagadi South and Matsheng Brigades.
Vocational areas in which the students will be showcasing are in bricklaying and plastering, electrical maintenance, auto mechanics, electrical maintenance and installation, computer studies, accounting and business studies, welding and fabrication. Ends
