Makgalemele appeals to business community

07 Feb 2016

Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele has appealed to business individuals to partner with the Office of the President and donate to the Sir Seretse Khama Memorial Fund for the handicapped.

Mr Makgalemele said they could do that in cash or in kind to augment government’s efforts in empowering people living with disabilities.

He was speaking at the handing over of a vehicle to Cheshire Foundation bought by the Sir Seretse Khama Memorial Fund for the handicapped, a fund which is administered within the Office of the President.

The vehicle is expected to facilitate early identification and detection of disability in the Central District.

Mr Makgalemele, who is also the MP for Shoshong, said the undertaking was befitting since the Central District registered the highest number of people with disabilities in the 2011 population census.

He also said the gesture would strengthen the OP’s relationship with long-time partners in the disability fraternity, the Cheshire Foundation. Ends
