AGs sensitises pupils
04 Feb 2016
The Attorney General’s Chambers has embarked on a 20 primary school tour in north east Botswana to sensitise pupils about the mandate of the department.
Principal public relations officer (PPRO) at the Attorney General’s Chambers, Ms Caroline Bogale-Jaiyeoba, said that the tour resulted from a realisation that Batswana do not understand their mandate.
Speaking on the sidelines of a recent visit to Tatitown Primary School, she said that they chose the schools randomly with the help of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD).
The tour is the first of its kind, and Ms Bogale-Jaiyeoba said it will improve and grow with time to reach more schools.
“We have been getting a positive response so far. Teachers are overwhelmed.
Students seem to understand, and are willing to know more about our department,’’ she said.
Welcoming guests from the Attorney General’s Chambers, Tatitown Primary School principal Ms Ruth Mmolawa said the visit will benefit both teachers and students as some of the information they will learn is not in the syllabus. ENDS
