A middle-aged man is helping police in Kazungula with investigations after he reportedly injured two passers-by aged between 42 and 44 years while trying to kill a snake with a gun.

Acting Officer Commanding for District No 7 Superintendent Vusimusi Jorowe told BOPA in an interview that the two men sustained bodily injuries and are currently at Nyangabwe Referral Hospital in Francistown where they are recovering.

He advised the public to take precautions when one using a gun to ensure that it does not become a danger to others. Meanwhile, Supt Jorowe has expressed concern over the high number of women charged with drinking liquor in prohibited areas in Kazungula.

He said as from December 1, 2015 to date, they have arrested 13 people for the offence, eight of them females. Supt Jorowe also revealed that they have recorded an attempted suicide case, in which a woman overdosed on her medication.

He advised the public to consult social workers or a friend when faced with challenging circumstances. He further urged the distressed to take refuge in God. Ends
