Old Naledi receives from Khama

Residents of Old Naledi in Gaborone, yesterday, converged at the location’s kgotla to receive food hampers from President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama.

In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Rapula Somolekae of Old Naledi appealed to the President to provide their 24-hour clinic with a medical doctor. 

He appealed for the upgrading of the clinic due to the large population of the area. 

He also asked for maintenance of the kgotla. Kgosi Somolekae also expressed gratitude towards President Khama’s visit as well as the donations.

For his part, President Khama promised to consult the Ministry of Health, stating that Old Naledi deserved at least two medical doctors. 

He said this could ease congestion at Princess Marina Referral Hospital.

Meanwhile, President Khama donated solar lamps to the destitute  people, Bibles to churches, blankets and food hampers to the elderly and orphans. 

He also gave sweets to children.

The President also donated food hampers to SOD Children’s home, Childline Botswana, Mustaf Children’s Home, Cheshire Foundation, Red Cross and Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre. Ends
