Kgosi wants secretary
21 Jan 2016
Kgosi Joseph Ramaditse of Sepako in Nata/Gweta constituency has appealed to their Member of Parliament, Mr Paulson Majaga, to liaise with relevant authorities to assist them with secretaries at the kgotla..
Speaking during the MP’s kgotla meeting recently, he noted that by February this year, he will be clocking two years without a secretary.
Kgosi Ramaditse lamented that such shortage led to backlog of many cases, which could have been long tried.
He nonetheless pointed out that despite the situation, he often sought assistance from his counterparts in Nata and Tsokatshaa, adding that at times their secretaries failed to come as a result of shortage of transport.
In addition, Kgosi Ramaditse decried shortage of transport saying most of the time they were forced to use their own vehicles to attend to official meetings,.
On other issues, Kgosi Ramaditse said just recently, they had some people around their village surveying water said to be for wildlife but to date they had not received any feedback or communication regarding the arrangement.
But, however, he noted that just like towards the end of last year, animals started to trouble the community to the extent of getting in people’s homes in search of water.
Kgosi Ramaditse lamented that rain had not reached their areas leading to water ponds providing water to the wildlife drying up and the animals roaming the villages.
He therefore appealed to the government to treat the water situation as a matter of urgency.
Commenting on Kgosi’s concerns, MP Majaga said he would propose that tribal administration be moved to other ministries with less work load than the Ministry Local Government and Rural Development.
In that way, he said maybe things would improve at the administration because across the country, the situation was the same in kgotla offices.
Regarding water for wildlife, he said government had intentions of drilling water around Sepako for the animals and they were looking forward the process to take off in the new financial year. Ends
