Sankoyo hold Chiefs

Maun based Sankoyo Bush Bucks managed to hold Mochudi Centre Chiefs to a one all draw, in a be MOBILE premiership league game played at the National Stadium on Saturday January 16.
Despite having an upper hand over the visitors, Magosi failed on numerous occasions to convert golden opportunities, as most of their balls went wide or were saved by Ngurungu keeper, Karabo Ramatlapeng who had a good game on the day.
The result did not only disappoint Chiefs supporters, but also Mike Sithole who failed to hide his disappointment after the game.
He said his side did not play well, noting that according to him the boys were rusty and did not play their game.
“We created a lot of chances but we couldn’t score, we are struggling upfront even at the back, giving away a goal like that, it shows my defence was not up to date. However we are working on those departments and see what we can do,” he said.
Sithole further said he was expecting some new players to re-inforce his squad given that they do not have depth and that the team was currently struggling.
Furthermore, he said all was not lost as there were games to be played, and they would be contending for the honours.
During the game, it was Sankoyo which won the free kick in the second minute of the game which was well taken by Keorapetse Seloiso, but he was unlucky as the strike went wide.
Eight minutes after, Chiefs also had their share, winning a free kick in the danger zone, but Jackie Mothathego failed to execute the free kick techniques as he ballooned the ball.
Both teams continued to move forward looking for an early goal, but credit should go to Ngurungu goal minder, Ramatlapeng who was making his debut, as he denied Senatla Molefe and Tendai Nyamusi scoring opportunities.
Both Senatla and Nyamusi were the only two players who were terrorising Ngurungu defence, but Ramatlapeng was in an uncompromising mood and frustrated them as he continuously saved their good balls.
The teams were unsuccessful to hit the back of the net in the first-half and the game went into a recess with the score board reading 0-0.
After half time, it was clear that both teams were now fighting to earn three points, but it was Magosi who opened the score sheet in the 80th minute after Nyamusi unleashed a cracker at close range which seemed too hot for Ramatlapeng to handle.
Sankoyo did not surrender, despite the fact that only 10 minutes was left before full time.
Six minutes before full time, Gaongalelwe Diapateletso scored an equalising goal to ensure that the two teams share the spoils. Ends
