Goya visits Palapye Hospital
04 Jan 2016
Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development Mr Moiseraele Goya visited patients admitted to Palapye Primary Hospital.
Speaking at the event on New Year’s Day, Mr Goya said it is a norm that every New Year’s Day he makes a visit to the hospital to celebrate the day with patients by giving them snacks.
Mr Goya said he is usually supported by churches in Palapye that also come to motivate and pray for patients to give them hope.
He said with God everything is possible therefore prayer can give patients a speedy recovery so that they too can go back home to lead healthy lives.
He said he saw it fit to come up with this initiative in order to put a smile on patients’ faces to prevent despair.
He said this initiative is driven by the Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation.
Mr Goya who is also MP for Palapye urged health workers to continue giving the community support because a healthy community is a productive workforce.
He informed them that he is aware that Palapye hospital is small and overwhelmed with patients who come from surrounding areas as well as those who incur accidents along the Gaborone/Francistown A1 road.
He said when the economy improves, a new hospital with 120 beds will be constructed, adding that the government will continue to improve health services.
In addition he thanked the churches for always supporting this initiative, urging other churches to follow suit. ENDS
