Kgatleng District Council chairperson, Mr Mpho Morolong says the introduction of the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) will help stimulate economic growth, accelerate job creation and promote economic diversification. 

Addressing the full council session, Mr Morolong said the ESP will be implemented across all government ministries and will drive key areas  such as infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and services and re-invent government.

He told councilors that through the programme, there will be accelerated job creation, increased participation in Economic Diversification Drive, backlog eradication of projects, road construction, and accelerated land servicing, promotion of commercialisation and integration of the agricultural sector.

Mr Morolong said Kgatleng District through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will benefit under education facilities backlog eradication programme.

He said the schools to benefit are Segale, Artesia, Lady Mitchison, Kgafela, Seingwaeng, Rasesa, Leshibitse, Raditladi and Ramotlabaki.

Mr Morolong said they were still awaiting submission by other ministries to inform them of their projects. Ends
