MVA Fund honours stakeholders

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund chief executive officer, Mr Cross Kgosidiile, has commended stakeholders for their contribution towards a crash free nation.
Speaking during the MVA fund staff and stakeholder end of year dinner in Palapye over the weekend, Mr Kgosidiile said the fund valued their relationship with stakeholders adding, “we fully understand that every achievement we realise is equally attributable to the relentless support we continue to receive from our stakeholders.”
He said the fund demonstrated its quest to growing healthy stakeholder relationships through a number of initiatives such as collaboration with both Department of Road Transport and Safety and the Botswana Policeb Service on road safety campaigns.
Furthermore the fund collaborated with community based groups through Community Road Safety Grant Scheme as well as donation of rehabilitation equipment to entities such as Thuso Rehabilitation Centre and Cheshire Foundation.
In addition, there was discussion between the fund and the Ministry of Health for establishment of the first ever rehabilitation centre.
Other initiatives included the ongoing legislative review exercise aimed at making the fund more beneficial to claimants as well as the anticipated construction of a regional office in Francistown.
He said these initiatives would assist the fund to deliver quality service to most of its customers.
Mr Kgosidiile further thanked the MVA fund team for their commitment to serving this organisation.
“We should continue to demonstrate our professional character and also exploit our potential to the advantage of those we serve,” he said. He said it is through employees’ commitment and dedication towards improving the lives of customers that the fund scooped numerous excellence awards citing the recent marked improvement in the Deloitte Best Company to Work for Survey 2015, and Winner of the Best Published Corporate Reports and Accounts Competition in the parastatal Sector Competition.
He also thanked the MVA Fund Board of Directors for their support saying that it is through their stewardship that the MVA team is able to apply itself and give value to the service it renders and the
MVA fund parent Ministry and all key stakeholders for the unprecedented support they have rendered over the years.
For his part MVA Fund Board member Ms Kegomoditswe Matshidiso said it is a considerable foresight by the MVA fund to come up with a platform like this where fund members and stakeholders come together annually to spend time together.
She said through this event, the fund reflects and pays tribute to all who have contributed to the success of the fund during the year adding that it helps to foster a closer relationship with stakeholders.
She said it is vital that the fund and stakeholders work together to combat road crashes.
Another board member Mr Geoffrey Bakwena also thanked MVA Fund and stakeholders for their concerted effort to combat road accidents. Ends
