Debswana rewards loyalty

Debswana continues to grow due to its employees commitment, Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) general manager, Mr Alan Breen, has said.
He said this when giving key note address during the company’s long service award ceremony in Orapa recently. A total of 108 employees were honoured for their loyalty to the company.
Among the 108 recipients, 19 of them had served 20 years, 48 served 25 years, 18 served 35 years, 23 served 35 years and one of them 40 years.
“Development of local citizens is something dear to my heart and the company has grown due to that,” said Mr Breen.
The GM said that he was honoured to be a part of a celebration which recognises significant achievement and the milestones achieved by the 108 employees.
He also mentioned that Debswana commemorated 45 years anniversary last year and that employees have seen the company grow which is a big achievement.
Mr Breen said that the industry is facing its challenges not only in the selling of diamonds but also the increased importance the company has taken on its contribution to the community to direct national development and as a company and employees, it remains their challenge and purpose to continue to deliver sustainable development and reputable mining practice.
He noted that the company has contributed to development of communities in the region.
Mr Breen also went on to say that people who are recognised have proved that they are aligned to the company’s value through loyalty and hard work.
Senior Human Resources Manager Ms Lebole Mokoto acknowledged and thanked employees for their commitment to the company and showed appreciation for their long and dedicated service to Debswana. Ends
