07 Dec 2015

Lobatse Brigade staff donated food hampers and blankets to two elders of Lobatse community, Ms Bojosi Motlhatswi and Ms Agnes Tlankana.

Speaking at the handing over of the donation at the campus, the brigade’s Ms Zodwa Ditsele said the donation served a purpose of bringing dignity in the lives of the elderly people and in recognition of the role they played in making the country what it is today.

She said the donation also aimed to assist and meet government half way in its agenda of caring for the needy and the elderly, as well as setting a trend of compassion for the youth to follow.

Ms Ditsele added that since it was Christmas, it was a time to give, just as the world was given Jesus Christ as the saviour on Christmas day.

He noted that elders are the most important members of every community, adding that as such, it was a wonderful thing for Lobatse Brigade to recognise and look out to the elderly.

Mr Ndebele said the theme of the day Unity and Compassion A breakthrough to Human Dignity, was relevant as teaming up of the Lobatse Brigade staff to do what they did, indeed brought dignity to the beneficiaries.

He applauded them for the good spirit, noting that their team was always involved in this kind of job as it was not the first time. He said times like these are not easy to forget especially by beneficiaries.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, Lobatse Brigade deputy principal, Mr Isaac Modiakgotla applauded his centre staff for always being in the forefront when it comes to looking out to other people, adding that as such, that important day would be marked in heaven.

Health, Education and Social Committee chairperson, Mr Molaodi Mantle pleaded with the beneficiaries. ENDS
