Public officers VDC show compassion

Public servants and Diphotsana Village Development Committee in the Mmathethe/Molapowabojang constituency, inspired by the President Housing Appeal have built and handed over a one bedroomed house to a needy person, Ms Moroba Tebogo at Diphotsana village recently.
The Assistant Minister of Health who is also the area Member of Parliament, Dr Alfred Madigele handed over the house to Ms Tebogo.
The house was constructed by Diphotsana -based civil servants and VDC to the tune of P9 000. They also donated washing and bathing soaps while Dr Madigele donated a toilet.
Dr Madigele said it is important for independent societies and groups to unite in making the lives others better.
He appreciated and acknowledged public servants for the good relationship between them and the villagers. He noted that they are on the right track of vision 2016 pillars.
He said government has programmes such as SHHA and Turnkey houses which assisted Batswana in building decent accommodation.
He appealed to them to utilise the programmes.
The assistant minister stated that Turnkey programme aims at constructing 33 houses in his constituency in the coming financial year.
However, the out-going Diphotsana VDC chairperson, Ms Sedubametsi Motsayalore said they worked co-operatively with civil servants to raise funds for the construction of the house.
Ms Tebogo thanked the VDC and civil servants for the donation. She said she will take care of the house. Ends
