The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s official residence was on Saturday (December 5) serenated with sweet Christmas carol melodies by Moeding Alumini Artistes in collaboration with Tsholofelo Foundation Orchestra.
The event was the Leader of the House’s Christmas Carols for Members of Parliament.
Welcoming the guests, Mr Masisi said Christmas time was a time to openly receive and give and be happy.
“This is time to be merry,” he said.
In an interview, the music instructor for the Moeding Alumini Artistes in collaboration with Tsholofelo Foundation Orchestra, Mr Mashobane Nbula said the presentation was meant to be a gesture of appreciation for the Vice President who has supported the Tsholofelo Foundation.
He said the choir was composed of youth who are mostly from disadvantaged backgrounds and they used music for economic empowerment.
“The idea is to encourage children who have singing talent to use it and play orchestral instruments.
They use music to earn a living and also to glorify the Lord,” he said.
He said through collaboration with their parents, the children were identified and collected from different churches and given music coaching. Ends
