Legislator commends church

MP for Palapye and also Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development Mr Moiseraele Goya has commended Pentecostal Holiness Church members for building a toilet for Dan’s family in Lotsane.
The church is also in the process of building a two bedroomed house and a kitchen for the same family as part of the outreach gesture to the needy living in the surrounding of the church.
Speaking during Thanksgiving and Old gates event in Palapye on Sunday, Mr Goya urged the church to continue caring and giving support to the needy and under privileged members of society as well as people living with disability, widows and elderly people.
He said the church will be counted amongst those who have contributed positively to the achievement of the nation’s vision of 2016 particularly the pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation.
The minister said the church comes far partnering with the government in the development of this country not only for physical development but human development as well.
Mr Goya urged the church members to reach out to men and young people, adding that their attendance is not impressive.
He said the church is very critical in moulding the morality of young people, adding that this will help them avoid peer pressure and indulging in criminal activities.
In addition, he said, he wishes that one day churches could adopt schools.
For his part, Bishop Lesego Lekgetho said his church comes a long way in shaping the morality of young people of this country, adding that the church does not encourage among others drinking and sex before marriage.
He said it is the principle of the church to help the needy and under privileged members of the community. The church has conducted many activities aimed at helping the needy.
The church also recognised elderly people by giving them early Christmas gifts as a way to thank them for their commitment to the church.
A representative for elderly people, Ms Tidimalo Molosiwa thanked her fellow church members for the gifts.
She said she served the church for more than 60 years receiving no payment Ends
