Muzila to attend local govt meet

Francistown City Mayor, Sylvia Muzila will attend this year’s 7th AFRICITIES Summit from November 29 to December 3 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The summit will be held under the theme, “Which Possible futures for the African Local government?” The mayor’s attendance was confirmed in an interview with Francistown city clerk, Mr Lebuile Israel recently.
She will be accompanied by the Botswana Association of Local Authorities representative from the second city’s council, who is also a nominated member, Cllr James Kgalajwe.
The summit brings together ministers of local governments from different African countries, mayors, representatives from city councils, municipalities, youth movements, small farmers’ organisations, trade unions, local entrepreneurs, associations of inhabitants, industry experts and imminent persons among others.
It will be officially opened by the deputy president of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa. The chairperson of the African Union (Commission, Ms Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is scheduled to give a keynote address.
Leader of Federation Society of Francistown, Ms Keletso Dambe confirmed their attendance as well. Ends
