Botswana Bus Operators Association (BOBOA) has donated P20 500 to Matsha College Accident Fund.
Speaking during the donation handing over to the transport minister, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo on Friday November 20, chairperson of BOBOA, Mr Tirafalo Mponang, said they worked towards a safe and secure road use.
Mr Mponang said BOBOA was saddened by the passing away of seven Matsha students.
He said the money should be used to assist the families of the deceased and those in hospital. The minister appreciated BOBOA’s donation.
Mr Mabeo called on bus operators to show responsibility on the roads, saying they should avoid over loading at all costs.
He urged them to ensure that all buses and mini buses are road worthy as well as obey all road rules including adherence to laid down speed limits.
Mr Mabeo also called on all road users, particularly passengers to do their part and take individual responsibility to ensure that they travel safely during the upcoming festive season. Endss
