Multitudes thronged Salajwe on Saturday to bid farewell to Olebile Mosielele.
Olebile was among the seven Matsha College students who died in a tragic road accident on November 13 near Dutlwe in the Letlhakeng Sub-district.
Various speakers described the 18-year-old as a quiet and reserved person. To her parents, who were still battling to come to terms with her passing, a lot could not be said about her as they said that her true character was yet to be defined given her age.
However, her uncle, Mr Koosentse Mohulapodi said she was a well behaved child who respected and listened to her parents as evidenced by the fact that she was able to complete her studies without any problems. He said this was commendable and an achievement on her part as some of her peers never crossed that bridge due to various social ills such as teenage pregnancy.
Matsha College deputy school head, Mr Given Selato, described Olebile as a quiet person and easy to work with. He further said she was never a troublesome student.
Mr Selato said the deceased always attended her classes punctually and never missed her lessons. Olebile’s friend Kewaone Nkemisang said they met last year when they enrolled for form four and they immediately became friends. She said she had lost a friend and their wish to continue studying together at tertiary had been thwarted.
For his part, Kgosi Oageng Katlholo rebuked Facebook users for circulating pictures and “unfounded truths” in tragedies such as this one. Olebile was born on April 22 in Salajwe.
She was the fifth child of Ms Mmamphato Mohulapodi and Mr Rantsiokwane Tsepadi. She started her primary education at Salajwe Primary school in 2004. In 2011, she continued her education at Lempu Junior secondary school in Salajwe.
She then went to complete her senior secondary education at Matsha College where she completed her form five examinations. She is survived by her parents, four siblings. Ends
