23 Apr 2013
The youth have complained about jargon used in businesses.
Officially opening a four-day youth empowerment workshop, North West District Council (NWDC) Principal youth officer, Ms Gladys Kelebemang language used on paper becomes a problem when submitting business proposal.
"Youths face a hard time and therefore need proper education on business matters that captures good business presentation skills."
However, Ms Kelebemang said the office has identified and invited various departments to conduct such teachings.
This, she said, the office is heeding President’s call for the attainment of the Five D’s, especially that of Dignity, to restore youth dignity and to build a mature and skilled nation.
Furthermore, she said the government’s commitment to empowering youth is noticeable in programmes such as the Youth Development Fund (YDF), CEDA Young Farmers Fund, youth industries, Ipelegeng, LIMID, Youth Empowerment Scheme (YES) and Back to School.
Ms Kelebemang further encouraged the youth to utilize channels availed to them to prosper in businesses.
YDF beneficiary, Mr Thabo Maretlwaneng inspired the youth to persevere despite hurdles they encounter and follow their dreams. ENDS
