Princess Marina Hospital has temporarily closed the Gynecological Theatre, Accident & Emergency (A&E) Theatre and the Minor Theatre for refurbishment. 

A press release from the hospital states that the wards will be closed for refurbishment for six weeks following the awarding of a tender to refurbish the theatres as part of the continuous maintenance of the hospital.

Since this will affect the daily operations of the facilities, the release states that the hospital has made arrangements to remedy the situation. 

Accident & Emergency services will move to the Oncology Ward while other operations will be carried out at the main theatre.

The hospital management urges the public to visit local clinics and nearby hospitals for minor illnesses to reduce congestion during this time.

As per the press release issued earlier this year, the hospital will continue to carry out maintenance activities as often as resources are available. Ends
