Khama visits accident victims

President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama on Tuesday November 17 visited Matsha College students admitted at Princess Marina Hospital. 

Lt Gen Khama, who was accompanied by cabinet ministers; Ms Dorcas Makgato and Dr Unity Dow, visited the Intensive Care Unit, surgical and orthopedic wards, where he conversed with patients and wished them speedy recovery. 

The 31 students admitted at the hospital were showing signs of recuperation, according to hospital authorities.

In an interview, Ms Makgato said they appreciated the response the students got from health personnel.

She said the patients were responding well to medication and they would also undergo psycho-social and rehabilitation process. She said Sbrana Psychiatrist Hospital in Lobatse would coordinate the psychosocial therapy.

Ms Makgato applauded Batswana for their unwavering support, adding that some had donated food hampers and other necessities to hospitalised students.  Some Matsha College students  were involved in a fatal road accident when being transported home after finishing their form five examinations on Friday.
