Police caution against wild animals

15 Nov 2015

Nata Police Station Commander Superintendent Otsile Fani has advised people of Nata/Gweta, particularly residents of Manxotai, Maposa and Sepako to be vigilant at all times since wild animals are roaming the area in search of water.

Speaking in an interview, Supt Fani said they have had an incident in which a middle aged man of Manxotai was attacked and injured by a buffalo recently at the cattle posts.
He said the incident was reported to them by a passerby, and that the injured person was taken to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where he was admitted. Supt Fani further noted that due to the dry conditions experienced across the country, many of the water points have dried up.

He said were all over in search of water and that they were now moving in boreholes where people water their domestic animals.

He added that most of the animals include dangerous ones such as buffalos and elephants, and appealed to the public to be cautious and avoid walking in the bushes, particularly at this period when it was dry and water was scarce. Ends
