The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Vincent Seretse, is in Windhoek attending a special meeting of the SACU council of ministers which started on Tuesday November 11.

The press release from the ministry says the special meeting has been convened to come up with a strategic approach to address the current stalemate in SACU. 

It says several issues have long been outstanding as the SACU council of ministers has not been meeting.

The release says the meeting will discuss among others the way forward in the implementation of several articles in the SACU agreement, which include the regional industrial development policy, the common revenue management and the revenue sharing formula.

It says the meeting will pave way to the meeting of heads of state and government to be convened on November 12, immediately after the inauguration of the SACU headquarters. Ends
