Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Thapelo Olopeng met with the youth in Gaborone to discuss issues concerning them at the National Youth Centre.

Minister Olopeng said the Youth Development Fund (YDF) was meant to empower youth and reduce consequences of unemployment as they would manage to start their businesses and employ others.

He appealed to youth to be patient as there were more applications which are being processed. He said the re-financing could also be availed to some businesses. He said re-financing could be accessed for those who have paid back the loans previously.

Meanwhile, Minister Olopeng encouraged youth to be ready and register their own companies so that they could benefit from the Economic Stimulus Programme which will also targets some small projects.

The minister also told the youth to be always committed to their work in order to achieve their desired goals in life. Ends
