Kabelano Trust donates to Boyei Primary School

Boyei Primary School in Maun has received Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment worth P50 000 from Kabelano Trust on Wednesday (November 4).
Speaking at the event, the school's teacher Ms Eweditse Rammokolodi said the donation is part of the Adopt a School initiative.
She pointed that the school management approached several companies to adopt their school and were successful with the Kabelano Trust in 2014, which pledged to assist them with P50 000.
The teacher said the ICT equipment donation will surely enhance their school performance and added that the school had a Special Education unit.
North West Regional Education principal education officer Mr Mosebo Molapisi noted that ICT equipment is relevant at this age and eased the learning process.
Mr Molapisi thanked Kabelano Trust, noting that such resources will help improve academic results in the North West region, which is at the bottom two in the country.
He said schools in the Ngamiland region performed badly yet have high students’ population, a worrisome situation.
For his part, Kabelano Trust principal education officer Mr Moraki Mokgosana said they set aside funds every year to assist 10 schools country wide on their area of need.
Mr Mokgosana said Kabelano has spent about P2.7 million in social responsibility in the country since its inception in 1995.
He noted that the funds were raised at the now Barclays Kabelano Charity Cup one day football tournaments, which started in 1995 to assist Batswana in needy situations.
Mr Mokgosana said they have helped three schools in the North West region being Boyei, Shorobe and one in Chukumuchu. He said individuals and corporate entities should make an impact in fellow citizens’ lives . Ends
